Big Media or Big Brother?

Big Media or Big Brother?

Never in my 20+ years working in public relations have I witnessed such a decline of fair, unbiased coverage in the mainstream media. Today I saw something very scary–in a way unreal to me. Fox News posted a “Bias Alert” regarding major media ABC News’ lack of coverage of newly reported evidence in the Benghazi attack. The link is here.

There are so many places I could go with this but what it boils down to is this: If big media (ABC) shuts their eyes or looks the other way when a sitting U.S. president is being questioned regarding a terror attack on American citizens…that big media outlet should be shut down, disassembled and downgraded as nothing more than a bought platform for a candidate. And if this were true, why would you listen to them on other issues?

Forget for a moment who you are going to vote for. Think about what you are voting for! If Obama is using big media to help him get elected (of course, both candidates are) AND they are NOT covering the facts on this tragedy (and especially if we can demonstrate that the White House is lying) then we are not America. The media is not representing the American people. And the American people are smarter than that.

The media–all media–industry is losing because of this bias and deceptive infusion of political agendas. Social media and the internet has jumped and grown because people want the transparent truth and the facts. We don’t want to be told how to feel or what to think. No wonder advertising budgets in corporate America are shrinking.
